Onion Gratin

Ingredients

4  Red Onions

1 tbs Cape Cod Saltworks Classic Sea Salt

1 tsp Ground Black Pepper

8 sprigs Fresh Thyme leaves picked 

½ cup Sauvignon Blanc

5 tbs Creme Fraiche

1 cup Gruyere Cheese, grated 

1 cup  Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Chop onions into quarters, separating the layers and place them in a 9x13 baking dish.

Drizzle with olive oil, add salt, pepper, thyme and garlic. Toss to mix well, add wine and cover tightly with foil.

Bake for 45 minutes, then remove tinfoil, and put back in oven for 15 minutes until slightly golden.

Stir in creme fraiche and sprinkle with gruyere and parmesan cheese. Turn oven down to 350F and put back in oven until cheese is melted, about 15 -20 minutes.
